Cambridge-based boutique accountancy firm, Ashcroft, has launched a new corporate social responsibility programme to preserve, protect and provide for people and the planet.
The programme has three main focuses: community, environment and carbon neutrality, where the firm is working towards becoming a carbon neutral business by 2027.
As a business, Ashcroft supports the local community in a number of ways, including: finding and growing local talent; providing an individual volunteer day programme as part of its volunteering policy; conducting pro-bono work, most recently for OUTbio and Trumpington Residential Association; sponsoring local teams and causes; and running an employee matched-giving scheme.
Alongside its journey to carbon neutrality, the team is also committed to reducing its environmental impact by monitoring water and waste reduction, re-using and recycling where possible, and encouraging greener transport and working practices.

We have launched a dedicated CSR programme so that our employees, shareholders, clients and community, know that we are a business that goes above and beyond to ensure our legal and ethical requirements are met.
“To ensure that our team maintains a level of corporate social responsibility that we are proud of, we have written into our employee benefits and working practices a minimum standard of “giving”. We’re striving to make that difference, not just locally, but further afield to the planet too!”
The next charitable event that six of the Ashcroft team will be taking part in is Chariots of Fire in aid of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, which supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting conditions and those who need end-of-life-care.
